Jim
Huang, CFA, CPA, President
Mr. Huang is a senior investment industry
executive with over 25 years of experience in
financial management, operational oversight and
regulatory compliance. He is a energetic,
strategic, results-driven team player and leader
with excellent communication, inter-personal and
decision-making skills.
Having graduated from the University of
Toronto with a
Bachelor of Commerce (High Distinction) degree,
Jim started his career in Calgary with BBN James Capel Inc. (HSBC
Group) and FirstEnergy Capital Corp, he returned
to Toronto to join the investment division of Sun Life of Canada.
Later he became a Vice President and Portfolio
Manager at Natcan Investment Management Inc. and
its predecessor Altamira Management Inc. Most
recently he successfully founded and grew an
independent asset manager serving institutions
and high net worth individual clients.
Jim has
developed strong relationships in the Canadian
market, particularly with the resource and
energy industries. A number of the
investment funds he managed have achieved
industry-leading
performance and won positive press coverage. As
lead or co-manager while working at
Natcan/Altamira, Jim has managed over $2 billion
in mutual funds and institutional assets,
including all of the resource and equity income
products in the firm. He has also managed numerous
resource flow through funds, mutual
funds, pooled funds, hedge funds and
Labour Sponsored Investment Fund.
